My name is Mrs Hedenberg and I'm very excited to be the Library Media Specialist at Barkhamsted School. I live in Burlington with my husband, 2 children, 2 dogs and gecko. When not working, I spend time watching my son play sports...which can be a full time job in the fall and spring. I also volunteer for my college sorority and with the Connecticut Association of School Librarians.. I love being a part of the Barkhamsted School community and having the privilege of teaching your children.
In the Library, I see grades K-3 every week for one 40 minute class. Our time together is spent in many different ways, including learning library skills, reading a book together and doing creative projects. Every week we have book selection and students are encouraged to take at least 1 "just right" book. Grades 4-6 visit each week for a book exchange. I see all classes for computers once a week. K-3 have 40 minute classes while 4-6 have 45 minutes. In each grade we learn about computers, develop computer skills and practice using the skills with different programs. My goal is to teach all students to be 21st century learners.
If you need to get in touch with me for any reason, the best way is through email at [email protected]
